Just come back from the Xero conference and the heads buzzing with ideas and possibilities – pity execution is the hard part!

What we have seen is Xero driving a network of solution partners, accountants, business and the government all collaborating together to drive up efficiency and productivity while reducing costs. In other words Collaboration and Process Efficiency has been the focus.

Now the next phase starts where silos of information, traditionally kept in government computer centres, are becoming freely available on the internet through API’s (application program interface). Pull some of this disparate information together, mix in a few statistics, overlay it with some location data, throw in some computer smarts and then sales opportunities start to reveal. More sales related cloud solutions will enter the market and use this information to generate leads and convert them into sales all of which will continue to feed to Xero.

All very promising and exciting and I can’t wait!

When reviewing Ron’s ACC and Insurance Policy’s it become clear that ACC’s June 2010 classification changes could be employed. This meant that Ron could change his classification from Landscape construction to Architect a considerable saving, by changing him from Cover plus over to Cover plus extra resulted in his original levies for the 2010 tax year of $5190 being reduced to $1178.

Ron had a number of life insurances polices that had been in place for years, each year they increased in value. Over the years he had considerably reduced his debt and on review found out he had 8 times the life cover he needed. On the other hand he had nothing in place to protect his most important asset his future income. The majority of the life cover was canceled which was enough to fund his income protection policy, meaning if Ron gets sick he’s now got income to continue living.

Rebalance ACC and Income protection and get increased protection at a lower cost

When reviewing Dave’s ACC and Private protection policies we found that he was paying twice for his accident cover. Income Protection policies are offset by ACC so in the event of an ACC payout Dave’s Income Protection would never have paid out.

Dave was paying $4467 per annum for his income protection and his ACC levies

On ACC claim he would have received $904 per week.

We Reduced Dave’s ACC cover and swapped his income protection policy to a non offset policy this reduced his total premiums to $2378 per annum.

On ACC claim he would now receive $1664 per week

On Review of Dave’s other covers we were able to follow his brief of reducing his covers from $1797 per month to $1000 per month.

Why do we do it? Why do we set up all these ways to communicate? Because they work. They bring us more customers. Most of us can have rush of early enthusiasm but it is the tortoise who wins the race in online marketing.

Here are some ways to help stay on top of it all:

1. Get an iphone that lets you check your channels when ever you have down time.

2. Install the Hootsuite iphone app and configure it to receive your blog RSS feed.

3. Integrate the RSS feed with your Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook Business Pages account.

And if that doesn’t work, hire TuiBiz to make it work!
